Living in Brighton

Arts and Culture

Brighton has a world-class cultural scene, with events focused on art, comedy, dance, photography, history and more held throughout the year. The city also hosts the annual Brighton Festival, the largest arts festival in England.

Food

Being by the seaside, Brighton is a great destination for seafood, including traditional British fish and chips. It’s also great for vegetarian and vegan food, as well as cuisine from all over the world.

Shopping

You’ll find quirky independent shops, vintage stores and antiques in The Lanes, which is very close to Kaplan Living. Alternatively, visit the Churchill Square Shopping Centre for all the high street chains.

Exploring nature

Take a walk in one of Brighton’s many beautiful parks and public spaces, including the Royal Pavilion Gardens, a green oasis in the heart of the city. Brighton is also located right on the beach, so you can enjoy walks along the coast too.

Nightlife

Brighton has more pubs per square mile than London, and many of them host live music from up-and-coming acts too. You can also catch some of the world’s biggest musical artists at venues like the Brighton Centre or Brighton Dome, just a short walk from the residence.

Sport

The city is home to the Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club, known as ‘the Seagulls’ — you can watch them play at the AMEX Stadium. It’s also a great place to get involved in water sports like paddle-boarding, surfing or swimming in the sea.

What’s nearby

Brighton is just an hour by train from London, the UK’s capital city. You’ll also be close to a wide expanse beautiful countryside at the South Downs National Park where you can go hiking, cycle, or just enjoy the stunning scenery.
