Living in London
Arts and Culture
London has a world-leading cultural scene, from the famous British Museum to the Tate Modern art gallery, as well a busy theatre district, dance shows at Sadler’s Wells and much, much more.
Food
From Eritrea to Polynesia, you’ll find restaurants devoted to cuisines from every country in London. The West End is home to a famous Chinatown, or head to Brick Lane in east London for an Indian curry.
Shopping
Head to New Bond Street to find many of London’s luxury shops, or visit the legendary Harrods in Knightsbridge. For high-street chains, two huge Westfield shopping centres have everything you need.
Exploring nature
Nature is everywhere in London — in fact, it has so many trees it’s technically a forest! The city’s eight royal parks are easy to find and there are many others too, like the Grade II-listed Crystal Palace park.
Nightlife
London comes to life at night. It’s famous for its pubs and clubs, but you’ll also find theatres, operas, cinemas and live music in venues from tiny town halls to the gigantic Wembley Stadium.
Sport
Many famous football clubs, like Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham are based in London, but you can enjoy a range of other sports here, from basketball to ice hockey and much more.
What’s nearby
London is well-located for exploring a range of other UK destinations. It’s easy to get to the coast, for example, with beaches at Brighton or Southend both less than an hour away by train.
